About

Emma Gregory’s work focuses on the complex relationship that humans have with nature. With concern to both humans as a collective and relating to how our own personal freewill determines how we interact with nature, she also confronts the subject of veganism. The theme of nature is particularly personal to Emma; having moved from rural Hertfordshire to the city of Bristol for her studies, she had to adjust to a more urban environment and as a consequence felt more disconnected from nature. These feelings of isolation she has articulated through her work, using an understated and fairly minimalistic approach in conveying her artistic vision by introducing small details to environments to unsettle and distort them in a subtle way.

Continuing her commitment to the environment and sustainability, she has now taken to the rewarding process of photographing for sustainable businesses and helping them to promote themselves through managing their social media channels. Emma’s work has also recently been published in the Exmoor Magazine to advertise for Wick and Anchor an independant company that produces locally made soy wax candles poured into reused oyster shells.
